Kalmiopsis Elementary School families,
Brookings-Harbor School District was notified Wednesday, Jan. 5, of 1 new positive case of COVID-19 at Kalmiopsis Elementary School.
The positive individual was directed to isolate and no additional quarantines were issued. If your child was in close contact, you were contacted Wednesday by the District or the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) - our local public health authority in Curry.
We ask the community to continue to do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19. You can help protect yourself and others by staying home when sick, wearing masks properly, maintaining physical distance, washing hands frequently, sanitizing shared items, and getting a COVID vaccine if you are able.
The district continues to have multiple layers of preventive measures and is regularly reviewing the protocols we have in place. Please continue to monitor your student and household for COVID symptoms and do not come to school if you are displaying any concerning symptoms.
If you have questions, please contact Principal Carol Leonard. As we communicated last school year, confidentiality rules prevent our staff from sharing any identifying information about individuals who test positive or are quarantined.
