The 2023-24 Oregon Statewide Report Card is now available on the Statewide Annual Report Card webpage.
This annual look at Oregon’s kindergarten through grade 12 education system compiles key data on students, teachers and schools in one place for ease of access and transparency.
The Oregon Statewide Report Card includes important education outcome data, some of which has been released in the past year:
- There are 368 unique languages spoken by Oregon students.
- 3,248 Oregon State Seals of Biliteracy awarded to students for the 2023-24 school year, an increase of 257 from the previous year. This is the third year in a row that the count of awarded OSSB has increased.
- The number of women serving as principals increased by 1.2 % points to 58.9%.
- For the fifth year in a row, the number of non-binary students increased. There are 2,924 students who identified as non-binary in the fall of 2023, compared to 2,777 the year before.
- Oregon classrooms continue to become more diverse:
- Students of color now make up 41.6% of the state’s K-12 student body, an increase of 0.6 percentage points from the previous year.
- Teachers of color represent 13.7% of classroom educators, an increase of 0.8 percentage points.
- Ninth Grade On-Track rates increased again for nearly all student groups. For the state as a whole, 84.8% of ninth graders were on track to graduate in four years, compared to 83.6% the previous year.
