As you may know, on January 7, 2025, PowerSchool – the provider of the software that we utilize to store certain student and teacher information – informed us of a cybersecurity incident that involved unauthorized acquisition of information. According to PowerSchool, an unauthorized third-party gained access to PowerSchool and was able to download this information in late December 2024 by leveraging a compromised user credential. PowerSchool has unfortunately confirmed that data belonging to students and teachers within our district, and across the country, was impacted as a result of this incident.

PowerSchool is offering two years of complimentary identity protection services through Experian for all individuals for whom any information (not limited to personal information) was impacted from our PowerSchool Student Information System ("SIS") in connection with the incident. For those in our community, that data was largely demographic – i.e. name, address, and phone number – but did include a very limited number of individuals’ potentially sensitive information, including some Social Security numbers and limited medical information. We are preparing written notification to those individuals directly; absent a letter in the mail advising otherwise, you can assume that your personal information was not impacted in connection with this incident.
