Thank you Wild Rivers Community Foundation for the generous Holiday Partnership Grant of $500 to the Brookings-Harbor High School Youth Transition Program (YTP).
The 2018 Holiday Partnership Grant funds are used to support a holiday meal for the students by purchasing four turkeys to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for the students enrolled in YTP Employability and YTP Exploring Careers classes. Students learn how to prepare a traditional holiday meal for themselves and their peers. Student-generated funds cover the other items needed to complete the meal.
The grant was also used to purchase locally sourced cranberries from Cape Blanco Cranberry Farms and canning jars/ supplies. The students learn how to process and can the cranberries into both whole berry and jellied cranberry sauce. The finished product is used as gifts for students, their families, and also given to the Brookings-Harbor Food Bank and two community kitchens.
